My Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok dashboard is full of cute 2000s-inspired outfits. The hype of the early 20000s style or Y2K style caught me already a few years ago as you can see on this fashion blog post from Berlin Fashion Week back in 2018.
Of course, you only take the good part of this fashion decade, the 2000s also had many ugly trends. One of the worst examples is when people wore dresses over jeans…
Today I’ll show you the good side of the 2000s style. Namely the cute little bags, comfortable wide pants, and chic tight tops. What I did not wear and which I should have had are sunglasses with colored lenses. But this is not the last article that is breathed from this time. It occurs to me that I posted already a cool sporty retro look with this kind of sunnies.
Fresh photos in the fresh air
At the moment I spend as much time in nature as I haven’t in a long time. But let’s face it a lot more, just like walking or cycling you can’t at the moment. This is not supposed to be messing around, on the contrary, I think it’s great that I do something like that again more often. Most recently I was really in the fresh air so often back in the 2000s, lol. Since I had this thought already before my shoot, I decided to take the photos outside as well.
We combined the whole thing with a nice walk through nature and the photo location finally became a large field right by the forest where we went on our tour.
I think that’s pretty cool, something different compared to the photos that are taken in the streets of big cities. Of course, the classic street style shots are also great, but such a fresh change is good in between for everyone of us.
How I combined my Y2K outfit
I opted for a knitted wrap top from Wolford, which comes straight from the 2000s. Since the stitches are quite large and a bra would look stupid directly underneath, I put on a black crop top from New Look. The black belt is from Brandy Melville and I bought the loose-fit jeans from Shein last year. To be honest, I love the combination of this tight wrap top with the relaxed-fit jeans, I could wear outfits like this every day!
I got the trench coat a long time ago (must be more than 10 years old) from my aunt, it is from Vero Moda. My shoes are some comfortable Vans in cooperation with Stussy and the cute little Y2K bag is a Gucci Boat Pochette.
As always, my beloved Tiffany & Co. necklace could not be missing. That was also the only piece of jewelry I wore that day.
